A house fire in Rochester, NH, claimed the lives of 3 cats, and a fourth was missing.
A puppy survived the fire, however. More than hour after crews arrived, a fire fighter carried the puppy out of the basement, where it had been hiding under a pinball table.
The cats must have been hiding under the video games.
Now to convince the wife that pinball machines could SAVE OUR LIVES…

The estate of Luther Vandross is auctioning off all his stuff. Yeah, sure, you could bid on one of his platinum records, or a Versace coat, but my eyes are on the F-14 Tomcat pinball machine.
Fun fact: The Luther Burger, a bacon cheeseburger with donuts in place of the hamburger bun, was named after Luther Vandross.

We need more articles about pinball tournaments and pinball players who live in trailers:
Summit Daily News - Local pinball player ranked 42nd in world
Jeff Rank is slowly but surely working his way up in the World Pinball Player Rankings (WPPR).
Rank, who resides in a Farmer’s Korner trailer with five pinball machines, won last month’s prestigious California Extreme, which moved him up to 42nd in the world.
The Star-Ledger - They still play the silver ball
In the back corner of a Dunellen arcade, behind the gangly teenagers flailing wildly on the dance video machine, is a group of men hunched over the hyperkinetic glow of pinball machines.
The men, ranging in age from early 30s to late 50s, nudge and prod machines with names like Monster Mash, Lord of the Rings and Medieval Madness, willing the silver ball against bumpers for extra points — all in hopes to be named New Jersey’s pinball wizard.

PinPedia profiles a former No Good Gophers, now Ultimate Golf Ball Frenzy, and a Superman, now a Futurama: Space 3000.
The Golf Ball Frenzy machine is described thusly:
The 2007 custom pinball machine tells the story of three choppers being built in the basement of the Golf Ball Works factory – the same factory the infamous squirrels have called home for the past four years. Orange County Chopper stars Paul Sr., Paul Jr. and Mikey have assumed the identities of Earl, Pearl and Mearle and are working away on the custom EDS Byron Nelson Championship Chopper. And if you look closely, you’ll see the Orange County Chopper logo hiding in the craters on the moon.
The Ultimate Gold Ball Frenzy has something to do with the EDS Byron Nelson Championship golf tournament and Orange County Chopper. I’m not sure how it’s all tied together.
Futurama: Space 3000 is an amateur, but no less awesome, effort:
It all started when I bought a weathered Superman Pinball Machine for the parts. When I gained access to the head I found the boards to be in good shape. I pulled the PCBs to see which ones worked and after a little fiddling and small repairs, they all fired up and the displays worked fine.
Good news everyone! The whole story is available here.

A three-foot diameter, 1500 pound wrecking ball broke its chain at Allegheny College and careened down Main Street:
As it gained momentum, the wrecking ball rumbled from the in campus along North Main Street, pinballing back and forth across the street, hitting nine parked cars and damaging curbs with each impact.
Over half a mile down the road Alex Habay sat in his Ford Taurus at a stop light in Meadville, Pennsylvania when the giant pinball cannoned into the back of his car, settling in the trunk.
Wow, that’s quite a skillshot!
